Guided by biomimicry,
Praxis designs energy-capturing surfaces inspired by nature
The beginning of every ecosystem is the sun.
Praxis’ proprietary nano-composite technology is designed to capture the sun’s energy with the breadth and ingenuity of nature.
Born on the water, tested in the air, and proven in defence, Praxis nano-composites are built for, and performs in, extremes. They are designed to be seamlessly woven into the form and function of the things we use every day.
Discover composites 85% lighter than rooftop panels — strong enough to walk on, engineered for speed, and streamlined for rigorous marine performance.
This is technology that protects fragile solar cells and adapts to curved and coloured surfaces without impacting performance.
Praxis nano-composites revolutionise the capabilities of solar, creating the most widely adoptable solar panel on the planet.
Inspired by the ingenuity and efficiency of nature, Praxis’ nano-composite structures are built from the inside out. Engineered down to the nano-scale, they offer superior transparency, flexibility and strength. This enables Praxis to shape solar systems to fit the curved and coloured surfaces of vessels and beyond.
Praxis’ technology doesn’t stop at solar. Praxis nano-composites incorporate semiconductor diodes to isolate areas of the solar panels that may be susceptible to shading, ensuring maximum performance.
Praxis’ composite technology is compatible with any solar cell: today’s or tomorrow’s. As new generations of cells emerge, Praxis is ready to capture even more energy from broader parts of the spectrum. Praxis’ technology enables any solar cell to go anywhere.
Praxis’ ultra-clear composites allow for full-spectrum light capture with minimal loss, increasing the efficiency of the solar cells they completely encase on both sides. They’re engineered to endure vibration, impact and extreme conditions, all while remaining crystal clear and featherlight.
Cell Efficiency vs Panel Efficiency — Know the Difference
The solar industry has a transparency problem. Most manufacturers quote cell efficiency — the performance of the raw solar cell in laboratory conditions — not the efficiency of the finished panel in the real world. These are very different numbers, and the gap between them is where the truth lives.
Every encapsulation process reduces cell efficiency to some degree. Heat, light refraction, material interfaces — they all take a toll. A cell rated at 24% rarely delivers 24% once it is inside a panel.
At Praxis, we quote panel efficiency — the actual, real-world output of our finished product. Our panels deliver 20% efficiency. That is the number you can plan your power system around with confidence.
We use the same high-grade solar cells as our competitors. The difference is that we tell you the truth about what they deliver.
With our technology, solar can become the world’s most powerful and mobile sustainable energy solution
Praxis is expanding the boundaries of what’s possible with solar, at every scale and in every sector. Our technology roadmap includes next-generation nano-particles, new composite formulations and integrated surface systems that turn transport, infrastructure and architecture into power-generating platforms. We see a future where every surface – every wall, wing, deck and canopy – becomes an intelligent energy system, from ocean-top solar farms to EVs that charge as they drive, to building exteriors and fencing that power offices and homes.
